Florinef shortage

Posted by & filed under Pediatric Endocrine News.

PEA is alerting our patients about a current shortage of fludrocortisone acetate (Florinef)  tablets.  Per the FDA, Impax Laboratories (white tablets) is manufacturing but facing increased demand, and Teva Pharmaceuticals (yellow tablets) currently does not have availability, with anticipated resupply in June, 2019, and anticipated backorder recovery projected in August, 2019.  Impax does currently have 100-count bottles of 0.1mg fludrocortisone (NDC 0115-7033-01) on the market, although higher count bottles may not be available. Use of the specific NDC number may assist pharmacists in locating available supply.
