Sunil Nayak, MD

Sunil Nayak, MD performed his undergraduate studies at Duke University and graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1990. He completed his pediatric internship and residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was Chief Resident. He completed his Pediatric Endocrine Fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in 1997. Dr. Nayak joined Pediatric Endocrine Associates in 1997. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology.

Dr. Nayak is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, The Pediatric Endocrine Society, The Colorado Society for Endocrinology and Metabolism, and the Society for Pediatric Endocrinology of the Rocky Mountains. He has been recognized as one of Denver’s Top Docs by 5280 Magazine. Dr. Nayak is an avid runner, skier, and golfer, but his greatest joy is hiking with his wife and daughters in the majestic Colorado Rockies.

Alicia Marks, DO

Alicia Marks, DO is a Colorado native, who graduated with a BS degree from the Bob Jones University and graduated from the University of North Texas – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. She completed her Pediatric Endocrine Fellowship training at the Oregon Health & Science University in 2010.

Dr. Marks joined Pediatric Endocrine Associates in 2013. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, The Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society, and The Endocrine Society. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, knitting, and spending time with her family.

Rebecca Somershoe, CPNP

Rebecca Somershoe, CPNP, completed her BS at Mississippi State University. She attended nursing school and received her BSN from Middle Tennessee State University. She completed her MSN as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. As a nurse, Rebecca has worked in pre-op, post-anesthesia care, minor procedures, and pediatric emergency/trauma.

Rebecca is board certified as a PNP by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society. She loves living in Colorado and especially enjoys all the time she can spend outdoors camping and hiking with her family.

Cara Newell, RN, BSN

Cara completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Colorado Denver in 2018. Just this past year Cara attended nursing school at CU College of nursing where she then received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In between both degrees, Cara worked at our practice as a Patient Care Assistant and as the Diabetic Coordinator.

Cara is also a Colorado native. She enjoys spending her free time crafting, sewing, hiking, and traveling with her husband
